You said we could talk about anything right? I am a Photoshop brush and action addict. I think it’s time to share my addiction with the world. I may need digital art rehab. lol

Hahaha… Denesia is so smart.!
Denesia.? Love your comments.!

I must say that Denesia deserves a special price for being so supportive to all of us… when I say us I mean the Engine Room in general… Its good to see people like her being so passionate about this whole process.

As much as I’d love to do this, which I do, I’d really love to see Denesia get a shot! She knows what she’s talking about! A dedicated creative that we wanna hear from.

Thanks Doris! You’re smart and I love your comments too. We knew you weren’t Rey’s mother. lol
Thanks Rey! Big hug right back to ya! I feel honored that you think that. I am sorry for being underground lately. I didn’t know what to talk about on the blog for the past few weeks, because I haven’t watched any of the episodes yet. I think the hurricane that came through here some weeks ago got me off schedule. When the first episode aired, that was when I was going through my first day of having no eletricity. I haven’t had a chance to look at all the episodes. I promise that I am going to watch them this weekend. I feel like I haven’t been as supportive as I once was because of all of that, but I am going to be supportive again since everything here is back on track now. I have also been questioning my digital artsiness lately. I got into a digital art funk, but now I am crawling out of it. lol This thread was looking so lonely yesterday that I thought hey what the heck I’ll give the guest blogger thing a shot. If I am chosen, then get ready for one crazy blog. lol
Thanks Tony! I sometimes wonder if I know what I’m talking about. lol I think you should be the guest blogger. Maybe we can be a guest blogger duo. lol I can talk about my Photoshop addictions and you can talk about the life of a graphic designer. lol

i have recently got addicted to photoshop as well!! That program is my life…
anyways, how’s the blog crew? Ive been super busy with school so I havent been able to be a very big part of the blog, but I have still been trying to keep up!
Denesia should definitely be a guest blogger, no doubt!
October 11th, 2008 at 12:05 am
It’s ok.. Denesia, we actually talked about you in the Engine Room. We discussed soem of the postings and your name came up several times. Even SuChin agreed with everything we said.
Again, kudos for you!!!!

I do love the youngness and the early dedication of all the team members… As we already know, they start from very early in their lives to show what they will become and we enjoy right now..
They are very talented, without any exceptions, but It’s overwelming to me that they are so passionate and so special in a very unique way.
This MTV and HP idea its even more than GREAT,, its great in a Superlative way.!
I love all of U,, and I feel also attached to some of the bloggers..
A big fan of Denesia, Tony, Kevyn, Allyssness and much others.. But I am a Huge fan of Team Latin-America.. (ohh..! Did its so noticeble..?), But very special to Rey.. He shines, he has this huge Aura, that makes many ones to hate him… But this is not any bad.. On the Contrary…. this is something he can expect. Cause hi is h.e.l.l. GOOD.!
SuChin its also great.! I have read of her professional achievements.. and she is a very also, Huge Professional.. Love her kindness to the Entire Engine Romm team members..!
A Hug to her and all of you bloggers..!
Ohhh.. I need to get back to law school essays…. But I will get back between lines….
Muahh.!

Ahhh, I love all the love here! Doris has it right. And Denesia, we all need some time to get out of those ruts every now and then…We knew you were still dedicated.
That being said, Denesia has the ultimate love not only for her craft, but for the blog (and us bloggers) in general.
If I had a shot, I’d showcase a bunch of different sources of inspiration: sweet websites, books, interviews with some of my professors, my art friends, and so forth. But in my opinion, if anyone deserves a guest blogger spot, Denesia takes the cake. We would all love to hear from her, no doubt!
Sidenote: I loved this most recent episode…Music and web design are always going to be two of my favorite things.

Thanks Alyissnesss! I have been wondering where you were. How is school going so far? I hope you have some mellow professors. I once had a drawing professor that was forced by the university to take anger management classes. I don’t think they helped, because she was still grouchy. lol I hope you don’t have any professors like that. lol It sounds like we’re both Photoshop addicts. I can’t stop adding things to my Photoshop. It takes it a good 5 or more minutes to load now. lol
Thanks again Rey! I can’t believe my name came up. Did everybody think I started the 1,000 comments per day marathon? lol I am too afraid to ask you what everybody thought of my crazy comments. lol
Doris, I didn’t know that I was making that much of an impact. I am happy that you’re a fan! I see that you’re getting back to law school essays. Are you a law school professor or a student? Do you do a little digital art on the side? Feel free to let me know if I am asking too many questions. lol
October 11th, 2008 at 6:15 pm
Awww thanks Aubrey! You know what, we should all be guest bloggers. I think all of us have some great things to talk about.
October 11th, 2008 at 9:49 pm
Doris ~ Thanks so much for the kudos.
Dee ~ I’d work with you anywhere on anything…but…..as Rey put it as well as everyone else…..you are the top pick for guest blogger!!!
Can we just pick Dee already please!
October 11th, 2008 at 11:05 pm
School is going….errrrrr…..okay I guess
My teachers are nice, but tough, just the aspects of the program, like we are compared to everyone else, and even past students, if we miss 3 classes we’re out of the program and we can’t get back in, if we get a C or lower in any class we’re out, it’s so scary! but still fun!
if i were guest blogger i would say how much dee deserved it more than me. But if I was guess blogger after dee, i would say that for me art=freedom. The freedom to explore new mediums, and new inspirations. The freedom to observe art and receive your own ideas of what it could be. And a freedom to create with or with out a purpose.

Ohhh..! Denesia, No, No, No..! I can’t do anything good with Computers; I need to confess I just learn how to make folders (cause I was in the URGE to get organized with my writings, after years of denial).
I am a big fan of the show; a fan that looks at the teams and profilers work with a common eye (the view of many ER fans).
I have spent my entire life studying. Finally law school will be over (soon to take the Bar’s exam). I am also passionate with my borings readings.!! Ohhhh.. What a difference…!!! ;o Guess who’s work its emotionally more rewarding.? That’s why I am so happy for all of U and for a person like me that enjoys your work in a very refreshing way. All of U transfers to the spectator feelings, messages and different emotions, we, the people lost in the road… As an example of that.. it is that image of Rey with a heart biting inside his jacket and showing 2 photograph, one of your group of friend and the other of his family. Rey’s and Fred’s works establish the difference between something meaningful and a common one. I am sure this appealing to the senses, is what a advertisement company has to look for.
But my friend,… I can understand very well why some of U get addicted.. I think ur kind of addiction it’s good. All of you are freaks of this digital stuff,, and it’s soooo amazing.!
This of taking just software’s, a PC, and neurons to create digital wonders.. WOW.! That’s scary. Please, I beg to all of U not to ever work with an intelligence agency. Plizz..
Hey Denesia… not to much questions,, its OK..! Maybe too much of answering..(just to let you know why a person like me is hooked with ER and all of U)
Hugs from here…!

I would talk about how design and art are influenced by / influence the different aspects of my life, so stuff about the working at UMBC’s printshop, music i’m into, home life, baltimore, the gallery show i curated that’s currently hanging on campus, adventures, etc. Definitely a video blog because I always have a lot to say!
BUT, I agree, Denesia should be top pick, followed closely by Tony, for their months of encouragement and involvement.

Doris ~ I like your enthusiasm for what we do. Its nice to see and its one of the reasons we do the things we do. To bring the unreal into reality for people to think about. To escape for a few moments into another world of emotion and wonder. Yeah, its cliche, but that doesnt make it any less true.
…anyway…..thanks again.

Adam ~ I completely agree about Dee.
She’s got the most enthusiasm I’ve seen through the whole ER experience, and I much appreciate the consideration as well. You’ve got my respect for you and your work. Sincerely.

You all are making me blush. lol I was pumped up about the competition and when I saw there was a blog too, I was like oh goody, I can chat with some other digital artists and see if they’re pumped up about it too and I can find out if they’re doing good in the industry or struggling like I was. Nobody I know is in the field I am in, so I wanted to see what another digital artist’s life was like and how they managed to go from struggling to making amazing work for various companies. I am glad I decided to chat on the blog, because I have met you cool people and others. This competition has made me more determined than ever to start my own business. I can’t wait to show my graphic art and artsy home decor to the masses. lol
Tony, I would work with you anywhere on anything too. Thank you for the free art therapy sessions! lol
Alyissnesss, for a program to have that many guidelines, it must be good. I am sweating bullets for ya. May every grade you get be an A. If you make anything lower than a C, then you can join me in art therapy with Tony. lol
October 13th, 2008 at 12:20 am
Doris, you totally understand us. I was talking to a fellow digital artist one day and I was wondering if the non-digital artists that look at our work understand that this or that took an hour to do and so on. I have a friend that is a teacher and she likes my work, but she looks at it like just another photograph. She’ll tell me that she can’t tell what I did to it. She doesn’t get how much time it took or how many elements it took to make a certain artwork. I don’t think she’s a big art fanatic to begin with, but she tries to be for my sake. lol It feels good when someone like you that isn’t a digital artist can understand what we do and find joy in our work.
Adam, thank you for voting for me! Like the saying goes, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” I know you all would and do encourage me when I need it. The circle of encouragement is neverending.
October 13th, 2008 at 12:25 am
I am not talking to myself. lol I finally realized why my comment wasn’t showing up. I had to divide it into two comments. Problem solved!
October 13th, 2008 at 12:26 am
I’d like to blog about my day.
October 13th, 2008 at 7:08 am
How about I blog about Glamination?
October 13th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
i agree with all of the above! When I first visited the engine room blog site back in june, tony, joel, and denesia were the names I remember seeing on here the most. I remember tony and joel cause they helped critique my work and denesia because of her enthusiasm. They both have heavily invested in the spirit of the engine room and they’re dedication should be recognized. congrats to ya!
October 13th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
i meant their not they’re haha.

Willoh ~ Thanks so much. So glad to see you here. We’re all part of the ER spirit, every one of us.
