It’s All Coming Together Now
Hello all you faithful bloggers. Well, I promised myself that I wouldn’t get sucked into the filming of Engine Room and I lost that battle. So big apologies for not writing sooner, don’t worry though, I’ve been keeping tabs on all the goings-on in our little site here. I’m just coming to from a daze. I know it’s seemed quiet on the blog, and I appreciate your faithfulness. It’s all still happening just like we said, so we’ve been VERY busy making it all happen.
The past few weeks have gone by in a big blur. I keep having dreams where I’m showing up late for a class on the last day and I haven’t attended all year…you know that dream. I think it has something to do with the tension in the ER studio. You know, you have an idea, and it all looks fantastic on paper and then suddenly real-live human beings show up and all of you have been feeding the energy of the show…it’s overwhelming and such an incredible feeling to know YOU ARE OUT THERE! IT LIVES!
The team is now in heavy post production mode, getting ready to launch the show. You’ll all be able to see it soon enough, I haven’t even seen a stitch of the show. I want to wait and see it with all of you. I know the contestants have been through something that has changed their lives and I can’t wait for you to get to know them better as the season airs. So, it’ll be interesting to see how it all turns out and how you and the cast feels once ER gets up and running.

SuChin ~ I do so love the updates. I’m sure that everyone involved has been busting they’re backsides, stressing and having fun. I’m just excited to see this come together finally. God it feels like its been forever since this started.

Hey everybody! Tony, I think I have something that will help you and Goran. In the meeting reminder from Tuesday, I included a time table in which I keyed in our meeting time and it converted that time into the times for different cities and countries. Hi Cannot wait for the show, haven’t checked on the blog for a while been very busy. Was just wondering if the people who entered the show will there portfolios be on the engine room site or do we have to re submit our work for it to be seen in the portfolio section on the site?

Tony, I kept wondering why hardly anybody came to the meeting on Tuesday. lol I just looked at the meeting reminder email I sent early that day and saw that everything I pasted on there wasn’t there when I sent it. Why didn’t you all tell me nothing was in that email? lol I am definitely going to revamp that email for Friday’s meeting reminder email, and this time I am just going to attach it to the email. lol

I like that. I really hope it’ll be online in full because my schedule is ridiculous.
Also…again, I’d like to thank those who showed up at the meeting today. We got some other ideas expressed and viewpoints presented which is exactly what we need every time we get together. We may not always agree, but in the end I’d like to think that we still share the same vision and or visions of what the original idea was in the first place.
I sometimes need to remember that not all of you have been in the industry for very long and some just out of school or still in school. The ideas and the enthusiasm are wonderful…I love it. I remember when I first got out of art school and went into the real world. There were those of us who tried to band together afterwards and do almost the same thing. Albeit, quite a bit smaller though. The internet was still a baby back in 1995.
But some tried. Some went places…..and some failed……I did all three. All in all an experience none of us will ever forget…….getting into the real world of graphic design and other creative medias. Smoke blown up your backside with disappointment and surprised with unexpected successes.
Where is the old guy going with all this you ask? If anyones reading at all? lol Simply this. Keep that enthusiasm. Remember where you started so many years ago when you thought ……hey…..I can create something cool……and you did. With a big purple crayon on a piece of paper………and yes…..it was cool wasnt it? Keep that first interest in your heart and in your minds. Get excited but stay focused on what you want to do. Dont get frustrated so easily…..because from where I’m standing..you’ve got quite a few years to make those mistakes or rash judgements into some beautiful art…..know what I mean? Look whats happened now since the whole MTV, Engine Room thing started. Damn impressive. Bit by bit…..things have come together. The shows going to air soon and we’ll all be glued to the tv and the web and we’ll be inspired even more.
To those who’ve dropped by the wayside……I dont blame you at all. Real life calls every day. New directions, new views on things. One week looks and feels different from the one before. I hope you come back. I miss talking to you and sharing ideas, interests and rants…..and if you dont…..it was my pleasure.
But to those who want to hang out and see what becomes of The Engine Room and Coactive Elements…..it might be worth the price of a few more hours of your life…

Good Evening, fab tastic bloggers! I just have had bandwidth fly into my life again. Thats right I can now access this blog at my new place.
I will try to make it to the meeting on Friday but I haft to leave for Chicago to see to my grandmother, whole fam is helping her out. Life comes at you fast sometimes!
