Mix and Mash!
New episode is live and goes out to all you audiofiles out there. Yes, the first challenge didn’t leave much time for audio polish, yes the contestants have more expertise (in general) with visual art than audio and yes as Kizza, as you point out, the audio world needs it’s share of Engine Room love… SO here it is. (and Kizza aka Kieran was being a little coy by the way, because what he was keeping a surprise is that HE APPEARS IN THIS EPISODE along with some other of you audio masters and mavens from our ER family!)
So hear the work in their portfolios of your fellow bloggers who were standing by around the world to help out their teams. Thanks Brandice, Kieran, Woody and Luis.
This ep also features music from 4 bands from mtvU’s bestmusiconcampus.com. Check out these rising stars - Aston, The Rocketeers, Rudy and the Rhetoric and Stella By Starlight and see why they are causing such a stir on campuses across the country.
Check out the Episode 3 Bonus Clips:
And let’s not forget to congratulate Rodrigo Bastos Didier from Brazil, who is this week’s winner of an HP Notebook!
Remember you can view and listen to each of the Engine Room team’s final projects each week on their specific team page (as opposed to them being on the episodes page). There’s not enough time in each episode to show the whole projects, if you haven’t figured that out yet.
Turn this episode up loud! We had a blast mixing it up.

Not my favorite episode ( maybe because I don’t know that much of mixing ), it’s always frustrating how short it is, I would have loved to see more how the teams worked, and more of the judging. This episode felt shorter than the last one. I want more!!!! Thanks for the bonuses by the way!

Haha thanks Su Chin, MTV and Team Europe for considering myself and us music junkies. That made my day! I didn’t realise I sounded so desperate until watching my video again! My friends are going to rip me apart. But i’m on MTV so it’s all good! Now someone please listen to my music!!! Thanks to everyone again,
Kieran

Enjoy Rodrigo!
I think that was my favorite episode yet. In my opinion Team Europe nailed it with Asia a close 2nd. Just me. Amazing job considering the time allotted.

…and Manon’s voice? I could listen to it forever. Thats what made Team Europe’s entry so good.
September 29th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
I agree Manon should explore a recording contract. Rey… not so much.
September 29th, 2008 at 3:26 pm

Hello again people,
I’ve added a little creation I made for “Coactivelements” (the digital art group made up of the bloggers). It’s sposed to be a bit chilled out and dreamy. Don’t worry though theres still plenty of banging dance music on my portfolio. Any feedback would be brilliant, even if bad! + Allison your hot!

Last post I promise. I just had to say: SuPak i’m lovin the audio Engine Room love!
I had a great idea. How about a show next year, for amateur music producers, who have to produce under pressure working with singers/rap artists etc? If they win they get to work for a label and produce a song with an established artist. I’d watch it!!!
September 29th, 2008 at 6:30 pm
Wow! That Manon music video was hot! hot!! hot!!!! But they didn’t sound German at all. thanks for the link Allison!

Ohh.. yes! This was pretty difficult work to do. Manon’s voice… Fantastik.! Actually, the Europe work was super-good the first minute.. after that, not so good.! Manon was who made the stunning part.!
Team Latinoamerica… the best one.! They used the music given and made a complete different one, adding a bit of the actual latino movement; that, was original.!
Asia_pacific too much robot talking.. well.. at the beggining was good but was enought after 30 secs.!
Team North_arerica, has to separate the usual from the extraordinary, but was nice, very north american!
My very favorites… Latin America and Europe.!!!!
