This challenge went from EASY (at least in my mind) to a NIGHTMARE. I was the one who found out that his tattoo was misspelled (after it was inked to his body) but OF COURSE I didn’t say anything until the judging was done… I had bullets of sweat coming out of my pores…
I told SuChin about it and never thought I was about to hear her say HOLY SH!@#$ so dramatically… totally unexpected… I guess they decided not to show that on the episode….
It was (for me) the worst I’ve felt on the Engine Room… BELIEVE ME!!!

Hey Rey, I understand this must have really been awfull! It’s a great responsability to design a tatto!
Great episode again, Please next season more time!!! It’s really too short we want more!!! ( at least I )

Thanks Caroline,
I strongly believe that there is a lot missing in the editing that I wish you saw. The whole experience was actually more intense. I was nauseous all the time when the deadline was about to end.
And then add a camera on your face when I was about to puke
Literally…

hahahhaha…. really..? Jessss..! Cant believe this..I just cant.!
That was risky..! Sometimes you have to let go, specially when the time have been finished… see what happend to North America.. they lost a point.!
I dont know about the rules there..you know? But that fixing of the work having no more time to do it… ;.. with all the respect to the fans of N.America group..!! Wow.!,, and that they only lost a single point.. I don’t know..! But my opinion I think.. its pretty clear..
What the other people think..?
The ER staff..????
Did someone have a different opinion..?
You know, this young talented peolple are fighting for 400K,, its something to care.. and rules are that.. RULES.!
I am so sorry for the other teams that could have wants for fixing one problem (as a letter) and stop of doing so cause of the rules…
Maybe the team (N.A.) should ask the ER staff if they could make something more on the drawing .. not just doing it without asking if they could.. yes.. i think, maybe they were concern about the client but come on.! Other teams after the time was over, could have concerns too..
Well.. any way, … congrats to all the teams.. loved the girly colors of the tatoo who won the challenge…
And love the way Latin America team made the Mitology character but not that fan of the stars and the upper part of the work.. just my point of view ( a person with a hidden tattoo) :O lol

?
Just one question for Luis Salcedo from Latin America group and also this one is for Fred and Enrico….
What about the client requirement.?
Why when one of your team mate stablished what the client was asking for, you just dont listen? Man.!
Enrico and Fred.? Were you around listening, if not the client, to your mate?
That thing was not an acassion to play the thing we can see from the very beggining… “i will make what I want with this” or “I will not listen my mates” or even worst… “who cares for the team.? I am the one.”
Hello..this was the time to put that stuff appart… in more than one ocassion one of you team mate ask for the MAP thing.. he was refering not his taste,, THE client asking and wants..!! in this for ever stuff like a tattoo.
Ohh. I can remember when, under LatinAmerica team, in the ER page, I ask U why so much problems been team mates.? (or something like that) Man.! Luis.?
in real life we all are team workers (co-dependants).
You should Never forget that.
Well maybe now, after that episode, You can see what I was trying to stablish.
Maybe I misunderstood the Episode. I wish I do.
Rey.! tumbs up.!
Go team.! Team= 1+1+1+1=4 guys there..
Is this finishing nex week.? ohhh.!

SuChin, I think I threw down the gauntlet. At least this one isn’t like the Real World/Road Rules Gauntlet. lol

First of all, I’ve been watching this show since day one and I’m so happy that there is a show like this. All the other design oriented reality shows can’t compare to what the engine room is churning out. So keep up the good work and don’t get discouraged!
end of my fanboying and on to the real comment
Most times when I look at fantastic commercials or print ads, I always assume that great designers must have had an easy time with it. This episode just showed me how untrue that assumption is. So with that said, I really admire what each group did. It was a hard challenge and everyone deserves congratulations for hanging in there. My main reason to comment is how much input does the client have for judging? I ask because I’m on the fence about penalizing the North America team. On one side, a deadline is a deadline, no ands, ifs or buts. If one of my teachers saw me trying to sneak in more work, I would definitely get penalized. On the other hand, if I was about to get a tattoo, I’d want the designer to be a 100% fully finished with it, seeing as how it’s pretty permanent. I’d rather have it late than unfinished.
Then again, I’m sure all the teams would use more time if they could.
Anyway, keep up the great work! Good luck to all in the finale!

What a really neat episode! I really like Team Asia’s tattoo design and how the ribbon wrapped around the leg. I also like Team America’s funky styled tattoo, overall everyone created something unique for the clients. Can’t wait to see the finale!

Rick.
Your words are so true: “… if I was about to get a tattoo, I’d want the designer to be a 100% fully finished with it, seeing as how it’s pretty permanent.”
I think this was the main reason for the teams to get almost paralized with the magnitud of this Challenge..! It was a life thing. The team will affect a person for very long….time.
On the other hand was unfair (from N.A. team), for the remaining team members. They want also the $. Maybe that’s why they follow the rules (fear of loosing the chance and fail this far).
I am sure the ER staff could understand if one team has to do something else to please their client, but under ER approval. I think they could not be blind to one team request. Its a tattoo for god s#@*.!!!!
Any way, all the teams made huge effort to do the best for the client.
2 tumbs up for all of them.!
They are nice kids. But don’t do it again. OK.?

Hey all,
Rey is right about SO MUCH happening that doesn’t makes it to the show! I guess it makes sense that we got docked a point… but we weren’t the only team that changed our tattoo after the deadline. Latin America did too, even more than we did, but they ASKED the producers if they could.
That’s where we screwed up with this one!
Oh well. This challenge was completely crazy. But our “subject”, Zack, loved the tattoo, and that’s what counts for me! Keep watchin’…

My first time here, and I totally have to agree with Max, its all in the editing. If I were to tell you (Rick) that the tattoo was pretty much all drawn by Fred (trying to cope with the pressure and demands of our client) that might be a first for you. The climax was how many starts I should have added on top of Fred’s drawing, thats what you saw. And by the end when I was adding them our team members were over my shoulder (they did give input at all times)…
Watching this episode was like watching it for the first time. I’m sure we all have a different version of it in our heads.

Hey Max.!
Pretty hard work, right.?
The main issue was not the amount of the changes; was pleasing the client and mantain the rules at the same time (as we can see with your comment, I am sure the producers made a good balance between both matters).
I am amazed with the kind of situations all of you had to deal there…!
Max.? Love your look.

Luis S.:
Sorry I was so hard on U and the others. You guys ARE ruling from the very beggining.
Is that since the very beggining, I was noticing that kind of issues. No ofense. Maybe this things are healthy in a team and the procees of creatring art.
Hugs to all Latin America people around the world, specially to the ones are far from home. !
